Tama Starclassic Snares- Has a patented feature that is very useful: as you add more tension to the wires, the strands press closer to the head. The MS20SC14B utilizes bell brass for it's coil which gives it a warm, sensitive and snappy sound.

The Active Snare System is a replacement snare that retro-fits to any snare drum (standard 14" or 13") using a single sided throw off.- This innovative alternative to the "snappy snare" uses an anodized aluminum carrier to pre tension the wires. This allows the unit to be adjusted with significantly less pressure against the bottom head and that means more sensitivity, resonance, and volume from your drum.

Custom crafted for the discriminating drummer who seeks a classic snare sound and elevated performance characteristics. The new Custom Snare Wires enhance the brightness, articulation, response, and projection of both custom snares and production line snare drums. Made from a specially-developed steel-alloy wire that has been individually coiled, stretched, and heat treated. The wires are then uniformly hand soldered to vintage style, flanged copper end plates. The hand process ensures that the wires will lay perfectly flat across the entire diameter of the head. Equalizer Series - Feature a off set design that creates a drier snare sound without effecting the drum's other performance factors.

Vintage Series - Are designed to authentically recreate the original sound and response of a wide range of classic snare drums.

We stock many different throw-offs. In order to get one that fits properly, make sure you look at the pattern of the mounting screws (on the inside of the shell). Is it 2- in a line, or 3 in a triangle, or 4 in a square? Measure the distance between the screws (from center of hole). This is especially critical when trying to replace a throw-off on a metal snare or older snare drum. You do not want to have to drill holes if you don't have to. The same goes for the "butt side" of the snare wires. What is listed below is not all of the models we have, just some of the more common models.
